MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil, born on July 12 1988[1,] is a Canadian singer/actress from Canada. In 2005, O'Neil won the third season of Canadian Idol, the first Canadian female to be a winner of. O'Neil is known for her role in Syfy's science fiction show Dark Matter. O'Neil was well-known for her role in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. She was voted in the bottom two and three finals. The judges asked viewers to cast their votes for contestants like Melissa who was clearly a singer with the highest vocal ability. O'Neil's performances were always praised and O'Neil did not fall back to the bottom 3. Zack Werner, the judge, declared O'Neil "a contender to win the entire competition". The 7th of September, 2005, O'Neil got into the final two spots of the competition, along with Goudie. After some more impressive performances and performances, judge Werner famously said that the headlines of the next day's news would read "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead and the Queen will live forever." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the grand finale results show, September 14 in 2005. O'Neil was also crowned the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
